FM Geared for “One”
Filipino Ministry geared up on the first Sabbath of 2010 with the inauguration of the 2010 set of officers and the announcement of the new Adventist Youth (AY) groupings. The clustering of AY members was based on geographical location. The members were led blindfolded to their new groupings and only after everybody was in their respective groups were they allowed to remove their blindfolds (or open their eyes for those who did not have eye covers). To immediately bind the group and build rapport among members, series of activities were prepared by a group of selected Filipino Ministry members to facilitate the team-building activity for the new AY groupings. Each group underwent four activities which are: the selection of a song that would best describe the group’s vision, facilitated by Sharon Caños; group prayer, facilitated by Ralph Zuñiga; group dynamic by synthesizing the story of the Prodigal Son, facilitated by Dario Nicol; and the positive backstabbing activity, facilitated by Bernard Estrella and Ian Zara. After the team-building activity was the inauguration of the 2010 officers highlighted by the lighting of candles and special prayer of dedication by Pastor Igan.
The new set of officers is to work closely with Pastor Igan to further the steps in building the first Filipino Church in Singapore. The FM theme for the year 2010 which is “One” is a call for unity and pictures a Filipino Seventh-day Adventist Church working together for one goal and one mission for the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ!
