Application Form


The Filipino Ministry of the Balestier Road Church needs a full-time Filipino Pastor to help set up the first Filipino church in Singapore. The work rules and employment conditions and remuneration shall be stipulated and enforced by the Singapore Adventist Mission and compliant with the labour laws of the Republic of Singapore.

To wit, the candidate must:

1. Possess moral and spiritual uprightness; and,

2. Hold a theology degree, preferably with a post-graduate work in a related field; and,

3. Be an ordained pastor, who has at least 5 to 7 years ministry experience, preferably in urban ministry and some pioneering work in establishing inner-city churches. An applicant, however, who lacks ordination but with extensive experience and record of success in the areas of “church planting” and urban evangelism, may apply; and,

4. Exhibit administrative and management skills to be able to provide leadership and training that are highly needed in establishing the first Filipino church in Singapore.

5. Possess skills in counselling and motivating people. Being a “people person” will mean much for the position, as the work requires dealing with members from all walks of life and of different cultural affinities and ethnic peculiarities typical to particular regions in the Philippines; and,

6. Show good preaching skills and articulateness and proficiency in oral and written English and Filipino (facility in another dialect is a plus), to cater to a big Filipino community that is able to relate to both languages; and,

7. Be computer-literate, at least in Word and Powerpoint applications; and,

8. Possess the energy and physical fitness of a person who is not more than 45 years old; and,

9. Display a HUMBLE and HIGHLY TEACHABLE demeanour, especially in some areas of pastoral activities and approaches in Singapore that are dissimilar to those that are relevant only to the ministerial work in his home country; and,

10. Preferably, have some talent in worship music.

Applicant to the lone position are required to send their resume’ to the Filipino Ministry of the Balestier Church, in the care of Ms. Shiela Pulmones, chair of the Filipino Ministry, by electronic mail. Those who shall meet the qualifications shall be notified by email for interview and, when shortlisted, invited to come to Singapore to undergo the final screening required for employment.
